Peseshkef Wands

Here are some Peseshkef wands and some background information.

Pesesh-Kef Wand  for Pharoah Senwosret I  ca.1962 BC

Senwosret I was the second king of the 12th Dynasty of Egypt.  Considered by many to officially usher in the 12th Dynasty. This artifact relic is the most sacred of the Egyptian ritual artifacts associated with the "Opening of the Mouth" ceremony.  This ceremony was performed by the eldest son of the deceased (Menhuhotep II in this case) to open the mouth of the deceased (his mummy, statue, or image) so that they could speak, eat, see, etc in the afterlife.

The Hieroglyphics are fully translated in the book "How to read Egyptian Hieroglyphs" by Collier, and it is featured on its cover.  See my pictures to read all about it.  I guess that there are about 12 of these wands.  Possibly one for each commemorative statue sculpted by Senwosret.  But noone really knows how many were found.

The magic wand is made of jet black Basalt stone, 12 inches of 7 inches long, difficult to carve with bronze age tools.  It shows the characteristic irregularities of ancient tooling.  There is a whole tough surface coating of limestone concretion with an irregular line of very dark hard sedimentary deposit that indicated that it laid face up halfway buried in the dirt that settled from the tomb in which it laid for roughly 4000 years.

I am told by a sensitive that there are great energies associated with this specific artifact, but I personally am unable to detect anything.

There are copies in 2 museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Miniature non-ritual versions can come in limestone kits, and Pesesh-kef amulets are also known.
